American Academy of Ophthalmology

The American Academy of Ophthalmology is the largest national membership association of Eye M.D.s.  Eye M.D.s are ophthalmologists, medical and osteopathic doctors who provide comprehensive eye care, including medical, surgical and optical care.  More than 90 percent of practicing U.S. Eye M.D.s are Academy members, and the Academy has more than 7,000 international members.
 

American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology & Strabismus

The organization's goals are to advance the quality of children's eye care, support the training of pediatric ophthalmologists, support research activities in pediatric ophthalmology, and advance the care of adults with strabismus.
 

American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (ASCRS)

The mission of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery is to advance the art and science of ophthalmic surgery and the knowledge and skills of ophthalmic surgeons.  It does so by providing clinical and practice management education and by working with patients, government, and the medical community to promote the deliver of quality eye care.
 

American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery

Founded in 1969 to establish a qualified body of surgeons who have training and experience in this highly specialized field.  The purpose of ASOPRS is to advance education, research, and the quality of clinical practice in the fields of aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery specializing in the face, orbits, eyelids, and lacrimal system.
 

American Society of Retina Specialists

The mission of the American Society of Retina Specialists is to provide a collegial open forum for education, to advance the understanding and treatment of vitreoretinal diseases, and to enhance the ability of its members to provide the highest quality of patient care.
 

Association for Research in Vision & Ophthalmology (ARVO)

The purposes of ARVO shall be to encourage and assist research, training, publication, and dissemination of knowledge in vision and ophthalmology.
